Ali Irizarry

In my work I search for fantasy. But it’s not fantasy from dreams or delusions, but fantasy from reality. A reality even more real than the world we know from our senses, the reality of feelings. In my latest works I always started to create from a visual reference: a body, a view. Then comes the reality of what my feelings are about it, or the feeling of the ambient as a whole. Thus the transformation between what my senses catch and the how I feel about it is what is reflected, through my hands, on the canvas, as an external energy filtered by my persona.
