MMCC Teen To Teen News - MEETING MINUTES
Meeting of the MMCC Teen News Project - This was the first meeting, and were read and distributed by the Carlos Laboy, the class instructor. The agenda was approved prior to the meeting by Jennifer Leon and Leah Rittle (teen program members) at 6pm. The meeting started at 6:30pm with the teen members listed below. The meeting opened with Carlos Laboy discussing recruitment the project and its possible future. Jennifer Leon then took over.

Time: 6pm to 7:30pm.
Location: MMCC – 3450 Dekalb Avenue, Bronx, NY 10467 (In the old wood shop room.)

· Job descriptions. On air reporter, roving reporter, camera operators, writers, research team, stage crew, lighting crew, etc...

· The media and teenage pregnancy; How it influence’s the young.

· What about sports, fashion and entertainment News (teens)?
· Mention on video that this is our first broadcast.
· Head shots of team.

· Watch the news, see how they present themselves, especially the Teens news program; Sunday’s on channel 5, 11a.m (1/2 hour show.)
· On camera Interviews;
· Questions to ask; Such as; how people think about arts and education (teens).
· The Election: Who did you vote for and why?
· Video conferencing with other teens from different places?
· When to do research and how.
· Keeping contact through email and phone calls important.
· Arriving early to set up and begin work.
· Having a pad to take notes. Always write in pencil.
· Assignments (who?).
· Filming MMCC Stagekids showcase on Saturday at PS 8 Beacon. This Saturday November 8th.

Names of Teens Who Attended the Meeting: Jennifer Leon, Leah Rittle, Penny Edwars, Kevin Edwards, Edwin Torres, Rebecca Torrres, Brandon Cruz and Brenson.
Names of Group Members Who were Absent: Channing Parker (Who rsigned and was encourgae to re-think his dission, to no avail.).
Discussions: Books and Music, triva questions to air, guest speakers, bio’s of teen members, fund raiser to get studio ligthing, suggestion box to create new name for project and commitment.
Decisions Made: Penny (reporter) and Kevin (camera person) will interview both people in the center and on the street to ask questions about the election on Thurday, November 7th. Flim news team in adult louge, reading adapted script by Jennifer Leon. Insert intro to roving report Penny Edwards report on the election (to script).
Items for Follow Up: Find out if approval of studio lighting was approved from center Assitant Director, Lisa Nicotra.
